a very merry windy and friends holiday {and giveaway too!}

If you have a kid, you let them either goof around on your phone or they have a device on which to goof around. There are literally 4 kajillion kid's Apps in this world and I swear my kid has scrolled through them all.

Electronic babysitting is better than a kick in the teeth, for sure, but the enthusiasm I have for each one depends on a few key features.

*Does it have a grating song that will get stuck in my head?

*Is the main objective for a girl to find a boy to solve her life?

*Is the sole purpose of the App to sell your kid stuff?

*Is it riddled with ads and add-ons that stifle the exploration of the App?

First world problems, friends. I know. But for "responsible" parents, these are important matters to consider.

In comes a breath of the freshest and most adorable air you ever did see in your whole entire life.

Windy and Friends.

The Official Info:  Windy started as a popular series of children's books by Vancouver-based Emily Carr grads Judith Steedman and Robin Mitchell Cranfield. The Windy and Friends App is a series of interactive stories for the Pre-K set.

Cute as hell - CHECKITY CHECK CHECK CHECK.

The bright and beautiful Advent Calendar they've been running online this month is killing me daily. There are prizes to be won, free desktops to be downloaded and songs your kids will love to sing along with.

The Holiday Appisode, a story followed by a sweet selection of activities, is something I, 37 and counting, would gladly while away some time goofing around with. If I could wrestle it away from my kid who will be playing with this while I have some much-deserved Mommy Time (aka napping beside her on the couch and ignoring all my holiday obligations.)
