that night {book review & giveaway}

Hi book nerds!

Welcome back to the Blunt Moms Book Club, the coolest club to be in, ever. This time a bunch of us read That Night (available June 17th) written by Chevy Stevens.

Yes, Chevy. Rad, yes?

Even cooler - she's a local writer. (To me anyways. I'm in Vancouver and she's pumping out books on Vancouver Island.)

That Night is pretty much the book you want to tuck into your beach bag before you head out the door (DON'T FORGET SUN SCREEN KIDS). It's a murder mystery, flashback to your worst days of high school, and then there's prison. Having just mainlined the whole second season of Orange is the New Black, I am now mildly obsessed with prison and all things metal and scary and sad. Summer!

For real though, you'll like this. Love is there. Betrayal is there. And every complex relationship you wish you could start over winds it's way through it too.

That Night is available Tuesday June 17th but if you want to ask Chevy Stevens some burning questions about writing or her cool name, we're all going to be chilling at the Chevy Stevens Twitter Party Monday June 16th at 4:00pm PST/7:00pm EST. The hashtag is #ThatNight. FUN INCENTIVE: we will be giving away autographed copies of Chevy's Book as prizes.

If you can't tweet with us, on Wednesday June 18th at 5:00 PM PST/ 8:00 PM EST join us for a live Google Hangout event with Chevy Stevens. Log in and use the Q&A box to ask Chevy questions that she will answer live on air.

My favourite way to find a new favourite book is getting a title recommended by someone I trust. (Aka not my brother who doesn't like Wes Anderson movies.) All us Blunties participating in this go-round of the Book Club picked their Must Read Books of Summer and now you can enter to WIN THEM plus a copy of That Night! (Prize valued at over $250!)

The title I chose is: This is Ridiculous, This is Amazing: Parenthood in 71 Lists

I adore Jason Good. A book of lists means I can dart in and out to read it, which is perfect for my life with too much on my plate and no attention span left. And supporting a blogger-turned-published-writer just feels right. I also love that Jackie Collins is on the list. Her deliciously smutty prose is like an all-day sangria turned into words.

Enter below and good luck!
